Two Individuals Released from Hospital Following Derby Car Collision

Two individuals were hospitalized and later released following a car accident in Derby’s city center that left seven people injured. The incident occurred in Friar Gate around 9:30 PM on Saturday, prompting detectives to extend their questioning of a man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Derbyshire Police announced on Monday that they are still interrogating a 36-year-old man from Derby, originally from India, after being granted additional time to detain him. The arrests and investigation continue as authorities seek to determine the circumstances of the collision.

“We must rally local communities and agencies to support those impacted by this event,” said Claire Ward, mayor of the East Midlands. She emphasized that two individuals have now been discharged from the hospital following the incident.
