Man guilty of 2003 rape Andrew Malkinson wrongly jailed for

A man was convicted of a rape that led to the unjust imprisonment of another for 17 years. Paul Quinn, 52, denied the attack on a woman in Little Hulton, Salford in 2003, which had resulted in Andrew Malkinson’s wrongful conviction.

During the trial at Manchester Crown Court, jurors were shown evidence including the presence of Andrew Malkinson’s DNA on the victim’s clothing. They also learned he had researched police protocols regarding DNA sample storage.
