Bayern Munich beat Stuttgart to clinch Bundesliga title
Bayern Munich Secures Bundesliga Title with Victory Over Stuttgart
Bayern Munich have claimed their 35th German league title, extending their record, after a 4-2 win against Stuttgart on Sunday. This victory marks their 13th consecutive Bundesliga championship since the 2020-2021 season, solidifying their dominance in the competition.
The Bavarian giants secured the title with a 4-2 home triumph over Stuttgart, leaving them 15 points ahead of Borussia Dortmund with four games remaining. Their unbeaten streak in the league this term, save for a single loss to Augsburg in January, has been instrumental in their campaign.
Key Contributors and Player Reactions
Harry Kane, Bayern’s leading scorer, added his 32nd goal of the season in the second half after coming on as a substitute. The performance underscored the team’s attacking prowess, which has seen them net 109 goals in the Bundesliga—a new record.
“To finish the league off in the way we have with the goals we scored… credit to the lads… we still have a lot to play for… but all the hard work, this makes it all worth it,” said Kane.
Germany captain Joshua Kimmich, who earned his 10th league title with Bayern, praised the team’s consistency. “The way we did it, we were very consistent… and we haven’t achieved that form so often. I hope 10 more titles come on top of this,” he remarked.
Looking Ahead to the Season’s Finale
The ‘Meisterschale’ trophy is set to be awarded following Bayern’s final league match against Cologne on May 16. The team has only drawn four games so far, maintaining a league-low tally of ties.
Bayern have already claimed the Super Cup in August against Stuttgart and will face Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup semi-finals on Wednesday. In Europe, they will take on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-finals on April 28.
“It is April 19 and we are in every competition. We have had lots of success with every player in the squad. We go to Leverkusen knowing anything can happen, but with real belief,” stated Vincent Kompany, who previously coached Burnley in the Premier League before taking charge of Bayern in 2024.
