Leicester lose appeal against points deduction
Leicester City’s attempt to overturn the six-point deduction has failed, according to the latest update. The penalty, imposed in February by an independent panel, pushed the Foxes down from 17th to 20th place in the league. Since then, the club has further slipped into the Championship relegation zone, now trailing by a single point from safety with five matches left in the season.
The club was first charged by the Premier League in May 2025 for profit and sustainability breaches linked to the 2023-24 campaign, during which they competed in the Championship. Despite the appeal’s rejection, Leicester remains determined to secure their position in the top flight.
“With the matter now concluded and five games remaining, the team is fully committed to the upcoming fixtures,” stated the club in a recent release. “This period has been challenging, and we appreciate the supporters’ continued loyalty. The priority is to deliver focused performances in these final matches.”
