Sale Sharks secured their place in the Champions Cup quarter-finals after overcoming a late surge from Harlequins. Harlequins, despite a spirited second-half display, could not bridge the gap. Their most recent Premiership victory over Harlequins was on Boxing Day, and this week’s win reaffirmed their ability to adapt to adverse conditions. Ford, England’s fly-half, was pivotal, converting a try and maintaining composure despite early misses.

“If you were choosing a fly-half for a game like this, Ford would be high up on the list,” noted a post-match analysis. “His reliable boot, barring an early miss, kept the scoreboard moving for Sale, building their lead slowly but surely out of Quins’ reach.”
