Two arrested after boy killed and two hurt in crash

A man and a woman, both in their 20s, were detained following a fatal collision on Greenfield Road in Flitwick, Bedfordshire. The incident occurred at 23:50 BST on Friday, when a vehicle struck three teenage boys, two on bicycles and one on a scooter. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other two were hospitalized with severe injuries.

Officers reported that the driver had fled the area but later located a blue BMW with substantial damage on a nearby street. The police are investigating the crash, which has led to charges of dangerous driving resulting in death, alcohol-related offenses, and exceeding drug limits. The suspects are currently in custody.

Det Sgt Shona Searle of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit stated: “Our primary concern is the family of the boy who lost his life, as well as the families of the two teenagers injured in this tragedy. We are examining various leads to uncover the full story of the collision and are requesting witnesses or those with dashcam, doorbell, or CCTV footage to reach out immediately.”
