A 19-year-old Guinea-Bissau national, Alamara Djabi, sustained severe injuries after being stabbed in Herning, Denmark, during the early hours of Sunday morning. The attack occurred in the central Danish town where Midtjylland are based, according to local police.
“He was in critical condition and required emergency surgery. Following further treatment, his health has stabilized thanks to the hospital staff’s efforts,” Midtjylland stated in an official release.
Djabi, who joined the club from Benfica’s academy in 2023, had previously spent last season on loan at Portuguese second-division side CD Mafra. He made seven appearances during that spell and contributed once this season in Europa League qualifying.
