Influencer Dies Days After Car Collision in Soho
A social media influencer from Essex has passed away six days after being struck by a vehicle and other pedestrians near a nightclub in central London. The accident occurred on Argyll Street in Soho at 04:30 BST on 19 April, when Klaudia Zakrzewska was involved in the incident. She was hospitalized but succumbed to her injuries on Saturday.
“We would like to express our deepest sympathies to Klaudia’s family and friends in light of this tragic update. Our thoughts are also with everyone impacted by this,” said Det Ch Insp Alison Foxwell.
Following Zakrzewska’s death, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that Gabrielle Carrington, who was previously charged with attempted murder, would now face murder charges. Carrington, known for her Instagram presence with over 365,000 followers under the handle RIELLEUK, was part of the X Factor live finals in 2013 as a member of Miss Dynamix.
A fundraiser initiated in honor of Zakrzewska’s mother highlighted the 32-year-old as a person with a “pure heart.” The mother shared, “This is the most devastating time our family has ever faced. Those who know me understand how much I love my daughter and what a special bond we have.”
In addition to Zakrzewska, a 58-year-old man sustained life-altering injuries, and another woman suffered a minor wrist injury during the collision. Carrington was also charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, dangerous driving, and drink driving. She appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 21 April and was remanded into custody for a trial at the Old Bailey on 19 May.
“We recognise that this case has generated significant interest and discussion on social media; however, we would urge the public to refrain from further speculation,” added Det Ch Insp Foxwell.
