A 18-year-old individual was transferred from Dubai to London and formally accused of Kamonnan Thiamphanit’s murder, the Metropolitan Police announced. The victim, 27, was stabbed in Westminster in 2024. Enzo Bettamio, identified as the accused, boarded a flight from the United Arab Emirates on Friday. He is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
The police confirmed that Kamonnan, also known as Angela, was aware of the latest developments. Specialist officers are continuing to assist her family during this process. Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, leading the case, expressed gratitude to Angela’s loved ones for their endurance and support throughout the investigation.
“Angela’s family are aware of the update and continue to be supported by specialist officers,” stated the Met in a release.
“I would also like to express my sincere thanks to Angela’s family and friends for their patience and unwavering support to the investigation,” said Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell. She added that it has been “an incredibly difficult and distressing time” for the family.
