Jesy Nelson’s car ‘stolen’ with medical kit inside

Jesy Nelson, a former member of the pop group Little Mix, is seeking assistance after her vehicle was reported missing. The black Range Rover, taken from her driveway in Brentwood, Essex, around 03:00 BST on Sunday, is believed to have been stolen. The car contained essential hospital equipment for her twin daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe Nelson, who were diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a condition leading to gradual muscle atrophy.

Nelson shared her plea on Instagram, offering a £10,000 reward for information leading to the vehicle’s recovery. She stated,

“My car was stolen from my driveway early this morning. If anyone spots a black Defender with registration plate JJ73SSY, please message me or contact the police. I have so much of my girls’ hospital equipment in that car that’s really needed.”

This incident follows an April announcement where Nelson expressed pride in the UK’s accelerated rollout of SMA screenings, set to begin in October 2026. After learning of her twins’ diagnoses, Nelson initiated a campaign for early SMA screening and launched a petition to include the condition in newborn blood spot tests. She had previously emotional moments after the petition surpassed 100,000 signatures.

Nelson gained fame through the X Factor in 2011, becoming a member of the girl group Little Mix. Essex Police have not yet provided comments on the suspected theft.
