Officer on Horseback Chases Suspect Through New York Streets

Footage from a body camera captures a New York police officer on horseback pursuing a woman accused of stealing a purse across city streets. The officer repeatedly urged her to halt, yet she continued fleeing. The chase concluded when a bystander apprehended the suspect, who was then handed over to the officer for further action.

Charges and Past Convictions

The woman faces charges of theft and providing false information. Officials revealed she had been convicted of murder in April 2000 for fatally shooting a taxi driver. This incident marks her first appearance in a recent case, though her criminal history is notable.

Artemis II Mission Updates

The Orion spacecraft is set to return the Artemis II crew to Earth on 10 April, landing off the coast of San Diego. This mission, which lasted ten days, established a new record for distance from Earth, surpassing the Apollo 13 crew’s 1970 achievement of 248,655 miles (400,171km). The astronauts are currently on the third day of their journey around the Moon’s far side.

Once contact was regained, astronaut Christina Koch remarked: “It is so great to hear from Earth again.”

Astronauts Reid Wiseman, whose wife passed away from cancer in 2020, and Jeremy Hansen, Canada’s first deep-space traveler on this mission, are among those involved. The crew’s historic trip includes a collaboration with the BBC, which accompanied them during the final leg of their expedition.
